You don’t need to “know how to draw” or consider yourself an artist. Figure Drawing is a practice that calms the mind and helps bring one into the present moment. Looking and making a mark, it’s as simple as that. Interpretation of the figure is subjective. Confidence in drawing is built through letting go of expectation and being curious about the process. In other words, abstraction is welcome.
Join our community. We are a small group of artists that meet weekly. We provide an inclusive and creative environment, a diverse group of models, a relaxing ambiance, and good tunes. Students bring their own materials. All mediums are welcome. Drawing boards are available for use.

Yes, unfortunately our figure studies sessions are only for those 18+ years of age.

No experience needed. As Picasso said “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child”

Sign up online and show up 5-10 minutes prior to class to find a comfortable spot in class. There is no instruction. We start with fast gestural poses lasting 1-5 minutes and continue on into longer poses lasting from 10-20 minutes.
At the end of class students are welcome to share their drawings but there is not pressure on sharing.

We welcome walk ins but advise calling first since we are often at capacity (208) 803-5923
Please arrive 10 minutes early to make sure there is enough room in class. Doors lock and curtains close at 6:00.

Photos of the models are not allowed. We allow students to photograph artwork in progress as long as models are not present in the room. To respect the privacy of the model, photos of the model and their social media tags are prohibited. We welcome you to tag @claycollectiv with any artwork you create.
