Come learn something new at Clay Collective! This holiday season, we’re offering a Sgraffito Ornament Workshop. We will pre-make ornaments. Each student will decorate 4 ornaments using the sgraffito technique. Sgraffito derives from an Italian word meaning “to scratch”. This technique involves putting a layer of contrasting glaze or slip on a piece of pottery, letting it dry, then using a carving tool to scratch it away (a relief technique) to reveal the base layer of clay. Design possibilities are limitless!

Bring some friends to this festive workshop and make some new ornaments for your home this holiday season. Work will be ready to take home in 2-4 weeks. Perfect timing to decorate your home, or to give as gifts.
